Okay, we’re the girls who tried anything, anything! But especially glue - to get long nails as kids. Then the days came when wudu was a necessity and nail polish got nixed. But it’s your wedding! Who doesn’t want wudu-friendly, halal nails for their big day? Nails are the final touch of elegance to your bridal outfit. But do halal nails even exist? Let’s go through the options.
Halal Nail Polish
Halal nail polish is tested for water permeability with a machine. It's supposed to be breathable nail polish. Let’s not mention any brand names, but suffice it to say that it’s almost impossible to reproduce the same laboratory testing conditions at home. If you want to see whether your halal nail polish allows water to permeate, just brush a few layers of polish on a paper towel and see if the water penetrates.
If the water penetrates your halal nailpolish, how long did it take? Will it take the same time that it takes you to make a wudu? Probably not. Next.
Peelable Nail Polish
These polishes are more promising than “halal” nail color. You can peel them off when it’s time to make wudu. There are two downsides, though. Many need a UV light to set and none of them will look like a halal manicure, unless you’re a professional yourself. Are you a pro? Next.
Wudu Nail Rings
Wudu nail rings were our first dip into the halal nail world. So excited! Just fit the ring, attach a glue tab and then the press-on nail of your choice. The metal ring is adjustable and fits all sizes of fingers. Problem is, it’s almost impossible to get them to stay flat, so you’ll be pressing them down all day. And they hurt. If they are too loose, they just fall off. To get them to stay on is, honestly, painful. They look cool, though, and kind of sci-fi. But is that what you want for your wedding? Next.
Press-on Nails Are Halal!
As long as you have a stash of nail glue tabs, press on nails will get you through a week and more. They come in a pack of 24, so you can choose the right size for your nails. Just put the glue tab onto your nail, add the press-on nail on top and hold for ten seconds to set it. Then you have an instant, beautiful halal manicure.
To remove them when you’re ready for wudu, just pry the nails off and rub off any remaining glue from your nails. When you’re ready to put them back on, just reattach them. They won’t adhere as firmly without new glue tabs, though.
There is a downside. The glue adheres well, so it can be a little uncomfortable to pry the nail off - unless you wash your hands first. The glue tabs hate water. The halal nails come off much easier after you wash your hands. So do that first, then pry off the nails. Afterwards, do a close inspection while rubbing off the glue to make sure you get everything. But please note, we've only tried this process with the hard, acrylic press on nails, not the gel nails. Not sure if it will work so easily on gel nails.
And are the hard nails halal nails? Absolutely! The nails are acrylic and the glue is made from silicone. Plus they are wudu-compliant! Enjoy your halal nails on your wedding day. So feminine! Order some today. Your halal nails near you will be literally near you. We’ve got you in pink, peach, teal, silver, red, french tip, white… girl!
